Sunshine Cleaning Systems provided Free disinfecting services

(South Florida) –FLITE (Fort Lauderdale Independence and Training) Center, a centralized facility in Broward County for dependent youth to learn the skills needed for independent living, served as the third charity to benefit from Shine with a Purpose. Through a partnership between United Way of Broward County and Oakland Park-based Sunshine Cleaning Systems, United Way organizations are receiving free disinfecting services.

FLITE Center’s 11,050-square-foot facility was treated with Sunshine’s signature Hygienic Clean™, a treatment that disinfects, sanitizes and deodorizes high touch areas and surfaces and is 99.999 percent effective against a variety of bacteria and viruses, including MRSA/COVID-19.

FLITE Center currently serves more than 2,000 youth aging out of foster care, chronically homeless youth, human trafficking survivors and LGBTQ+ youth. Receiving this complimentary disinfecting service gives us all another layer of protection as we continue to work hard to protect against COVID-19 infections.

“We are truly grateful to Sunshine Cleaning Systems and their support of FLITE Center’s youth, staff and families in ensuring the safety of our community,” said Ayesha Wiliams, Director of Health and Wellness at FLITE Center.

Sunshine, a woman-owned regional janitorial services company, recently introduced the Shine with a Purpose initiative as part of its 45th anniversary.

“This important community project is a perfect way for us to celebrate our 45th Anniversary and most importantly, it’s our way to help charities in our own backyard,” said Derek Auckland, Florida Operations Manager at Sunshine Cleaning Systems, LLC.
