Hints for Healthier Living: The Dangers of Dust

Dust may seem innocuous, yet these seemingly harmless particles can wreak havoc on our health, the environment, even our technological devices. Consider these perils alone:

  • Dust that is inhaled deep into the lungs can result in a wide range of health issues, including allergies, asthma, bronchitis, even chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • In addition to allergens, dust can carry bacteria and viruses, increasing the risk of infections.
  • Dust can trap and transport various contaminants, such as chemicals, pollutants, or toxins, and contribute to indoor air quality.
  • If proper dust management and control measures are not in place, the accumulation of these particles can be a fire hazard.
  • When dust penetrates sensitive electronic equipment, including keyboards and other components, the lifespan of the device can be shortened or overheating, short-circuits, even breakdowns can occur.

The teams at Sunshine are well aware of the hazards of dust and therefore, work hard to protect all of our clients with thorough and regular cleaning. In addition, many staff members at Sunshine also hold training certifications from the worldwide cleaning industry association (ISSA), the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC).

When needed we also offer more powerful cleaning solutions, such as Hygienic Clean™.

This three-phase program includes the pre-cleaning of all surfaces and a full disinfection wipe-down, followed by disinfecting applications with an Electrostatic Sprayer. All high-touch points, as well as air vents, are carefully cleaned and a qualified specialist performs pre- and post-cleaning inspections and creates a contamination prevention operating plan.
